
The Miss Ohio & Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer 2025 Pageant is looking for participants for the 2025 state pageant. We are currently seeking contestants to compete for this exciting opportunity to build confidence, showcase talent, grow interview skills, and represent not only the Miss Ohio Volunteer Organization, but also St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Salvation Army, both national partners of the Miss Volunteer America organization. To qualify to compete as a Teen contestant for Miss Ohio Teen Volunteer, you must be between the ages of 13 and 18. If you register to compete BEFORE your 19th birthday, you can also compete as a Teen, even though you may be 19 on pageant day. To qualify to compete as a Miss contestant for Miss Ohio Volunteer, you must be between the ages of 19 and 26, or register before your 27th birthday.
The winners in addition to receiving state scholarships, will represent Ohio on the National stage, where they can earn a $10,000 scholarship (Miss Teen
Volunteer America), or a $50,000 scholarship (Miss Volunteer America).

One week from today on the Armory Lawn a group of students from the Washington County Career Center will be holding an event "Sowing the Seeds of Literacy" focused on promoting the importance of reading to young children.
The event, which will be held on May 2, from 5-9 p.m., is a collaboration between Building Bridges 2 Careers and of students who call themselves "Students Solving Problems".
At the event, SSP members will be reading selected story books including:
"Wally Takes a Weather Walk" by Bree Sunshine Smith
"The Little Butterfly That Could" by Ross Burach
"I Can Save the Earth!" By Alison Inches
"How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow" by Monica Sweeney
"Rain, Snow or Shine: A Book About the Weather" by June & Lucy Kids
and "We Are All Connected: Caring For Each Other & The Earth" by Gabi Garcia
There will be free books on hand for kids and snacks as well. This is an absolutely wonderful opportunity to get your children even more involved with reading outside of school hours, we hope you will take full advantage.

It's almost time for the 25th Annual Marietta City School District Fine Arts Festival! On Wednesday, April 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Marietta High School Gym and Auditorium, creativity will come alive from the minds and talents of the students of MCSD! This completely free and open event will feature various art mediums and musical performances from students at all levels of the district. The Party in the Park for Prevention will be held Saturday April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Muskingum Park in Marietta, Oh. It will be a fun time for the entire family with food trucks, bouncy houses, craft tables, yard games, a live dj, farm petting zoo and so much more!

The Peoples Bank Theatre is providing free kids films to the public with their Sensory Friendly Film Series which will be starting in May. The series is aimed at presenting family films in a positive comfortable environment that includes lights left on low, sound turned down, chill-out zones, and more autism-friendly features.
